Slant fin strongly recommends that you use the original replacement filter for any of your Slant fin models. This is not only to protect your machine from other lower quality generic filter pads, but that original Slant fin humidifier parts are manufactured to fit the exact proportions of your machine.

If your machine requires a 2¼ inch diameter mineral absorption pad and the one you put in turns out to be a only a quarter of an inch small, it would result in making the filter useless it would allow all the water to escape through and cause a lot of slat build up inside your water tank and other areas of the machine. Additionally it would also cause ‘white dust’ to precipitate in the mist making it hazardous for asthmatics and patients with respiratory allergies.
